Throughout LGBTQ+ history, Black LGBTQ+ folks have been trailblazers, icons, pathmakers and groundbreakers. October is LGBTQ+ History Month, and we honor those whose work, art, voices, stories, and contributions have fueled the fight for LGBTQ+ liberation and visibility, including the Black folks who’ve endured the intersecting fight for LGBTQ+ rights and racial justice. From Marsha P. Johnson and Bayard Rustin to Pauli Murray and Billy Porter, and all the brave, courageous, and bold Black queer folks in between, our people have carved out spaces for Black LGBTQ+ joy, visibility, and celebration where there was none. We’ve fought for liberation so that all Black LGBTQ+ people can live openly, authentically, and joyfully. #LGBTQHistoryMonth #BlackLGBTQ #LGBTQ #UntilJusticeIsReal
