As a nutritionist, whenever I travel, I don’t believe in avoiding local food. I believe in tasting it without turning every experience into a full meal.
In Oman, I tried Khubz Regag, a thin, crispy Omani roti with cheesy, crunchy layers. Definitely something worth experiencing!
My simple travel rule? The 2-Bite Rule.
Take 2 mindful bites. Enjoy the flavour, satisfy the curiosity, and move on. You’ve experienced the local food without feeling like you need to finish the entire portion just because it’s in front of you.
Then balance the rest of your day with protein, vegetables, hydration and your regular meals.
Travelling doesn’t have to mean choosing between enjoying food and staying mindful. You can do both. ❤️
