Back home, I was constantly surrounded by love and a strong sense of belonging from both my friends and family. Being so far from home was more challenging than I expected, and the hardest part has been the distance from the people who mean the most to me. I decided to go through recruitment with the hope of finding a home away from home, expanding my community in Syracuse, and building lifelong connections. Joining AGD has already proven itself as the best decision I could’ve made for myself. The girls that I’ve met and those I already had the pleasure of knowing in AGD are the epitome of love, compassion, and empathy. From the moment I stepped into AGD for the first time, I felt immediately comfortable. Seeing familiar faces and being welcomed so warmly made it feel like home right away.
