The biggest fence isn’t always the hardest question on the course. According to FEI Level 4 Course Designer Guilherme Jorge, difficulty can come from much subtler places: a distance that requires adjustment, a turn that demands accuracy, a narrow fence that tests precision, or a line that forces the rider to make a decision. And there isn’t always one “correct” answer. The right ride can depend on the horse underneath you, from their natural stride to their ability to lengthen, shorten, and respond when the questions come quickly. Some moments test the rider’s decision-making. Others reveal the training and preparation that happened long before horse and rider entered the ring. #theplaidhorse #theplaidcast #guilhermejorge #showjumping #showjumper #coursedesign #coursewalk #jumpers #hunterjumper #horseshowing #horsemanship #horsetraining #equestriantraining #horseandrider #equestrian #equestrianlife #horsecommunity #horsepeople #ourindustry #horsesofinstagram
