How important is it to "separate the art from the artist"? I ask because...I have no idea how to feel about my relationship with Tesla and the future of self driving. Let's start with the facts. I lease a Model Y (used to own one, but the economics just aren't good for owning an EV, so I sold my old one and went to a lease). For the price, it's a great car. But most importantly, the FSD has become EXTRAORDINARY. Like, it is a significantly better driver than I am, even when I'm focused. I truly believe in the future being self-driving. I think FSD on a Tesla is already safer for my daughters than me driving them, AND in the future I'll feel less bed about working/texting etc while I'm en route to work (sorry but...I really want to be able to text and drive!). I can also picture a world in like 5 years where we don't need to own a car and just Waymo everywhere. For now, the Model Y is the best option. Counterpoint: I really don't like El*n. Not even just from a political perspective...
