This was the TURNING POINT. In 2010, Vaughn Gitting Jr. worked with Need For Speed on a new in-game car that RTR Vehicles would bring to life. It became the RTR-X, a ‘69 Mustang with drifting attitude. RTR and Gittin Jr. sourced the chassis and body, while Andy Blackmore handled design. Extreme to look at and wild to drive, the RTR-X proved the team could build head-turning cars. Soon after, this DNA would go on to inspire the legendary Hoonicorn build. • Learn more about Vaughn Gittin Jr. and the rise of RTR Vehicles in the new book READY TO ROCK.
