Athan Kaliakmanis got thrown into about as tough of a debut as you can ask for and still showed some real flashes 👀 With Marcus Mariota leaving in the first quarter with a knee injury, the seventh-round rookie out of Rutgers was suddenly running Washington’s offense in his first NFL regular-season action. He finished 15-of-33 for 186 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT, including a beautiful 47-yard touchdown to Treylon Burks. The numbers weren’t perfect and Washington lost 30-13, but the confidence was noticeable. Dan Quinn even praised the rookie’s “confidence” and “fearlessness” afterward. For the 223rd pick getting tossed into the fire with basically no warning, there was definitely something to build on. Did Washington find something in Kaliakmanis? 👀 #Commanders #AthanKaliakmanis #NFL #RaiseHail #NFLRookies
