A striking fusion of Italian design and American muscle, this exceptional 1971 De Tomaso Mangusta will be offered at The Zoute Sale 🇧🇪
Chassis 8MA1200 was delivered new in Italy and built to the highly desirable European four-headlight specification, distinguishing it from the retractable-headlamp cars produced for the US market.
Beneath Giorgetto Giugiaro’s unmistakable Ghia-designed coachwork lies a mid-mounted 4.7-litre Ford V8, producing around 300bhp and driving through a ZF transaxle. With just 401 examples produced between 1967 and 1972, the Mangusta remains an exceptionally rare sight today.
This particular example was professionally restored from the ground up in the early 2000s by Wingho Auto Classique in Montreal, with the work subsequently earning widespread recognition within the international De Tomaso community.
A rare combination of dramatic Italian styling, American V8 power and exceptional provenance.
