When I was in middle school and high school, I used to bring in cupcakes for all four of the Beatles birthdays (obviously with Ringo being born in July, we only did three of these celebrations per school year). I’m sure my friends would remember me coming in with the cupcakes, and I always hoped that it was something they could look forward to as a little surprise every now and then. Paul McCartney, I owe so much to you. Your music has been interwoven into my life with the precision and ease of a skilled seamstress. There are very few moments in not only my musical education, but my life’s education where I don’t remember your music being the soundtrack. I am so grateful to not only have seen you live once but TWICE, and at SNL of all stages.
