On March 16, 2021, Rob Kavovit took his own life while suffering from silent depression. The Kavovit Family funneled their grief into opening the dialogue around depression and mental health by starting the 15forlife_foundation. Their mission is to shed the shame around needing help and normalizing the conversation around mental health. With their guidance we have continued to bring mental health to the forefront this season through their '15 Sticks' initiative! We saved a place for Rob on our bench all season long with the 15 For Life Lacrosse Stick from powelllacrosse. It serves as the trophy awarded at the end of each week to the player that exemplifies the essence of "teammate" by living these characteristics on and off the field, Compassion - Leader - Courageous - Unselfish - Loving - Loyal - Kind - Great Listener - Devoted - Honest - Responsible - Passionate - Creative - Adventurous - Respectful.
