Renowned for its high performance and distinctive design, Ducati® has produced some of the most sought-after motorcycles in history. Established in 1926 by Antonio Cavalieri Ducati and his three sons - Adriano, Marcello, and Bruno - Ducati® began as a radio equipment and electronics manufacturer, but later experimented with motorcycle engine development as the company expanded. After WWII bombing severely damaged its factories, Ducati® began making 48cc engines called Cucciolo (Italian for “puppy”) to be mounted to bicycles.
