a few weeks ago… I had an idea to invite people to our farm and hear a brand new album. The thing is … I had left my label, had no team and had just released an album. But life churned another album out of me and I had no idea what to do with it. The modern music industry is so bleak and weird but i have never felt more connected to the art I’m making. It’s a weird feeling to explain. But I had this idea to invite people to the farm to hear this new album and maybe help me sort what might feel good to share next. It’s literally the opposite of ANYTHING I’ve been told by record labels and managers …. But I was also deeply scared no one would come. To my surprise… I was wrong. Or rather - the advice of “experts” had blinded me from just taking a leap. People came from all over the US to hear this new album and I got something I can’t even describe.
