The disability community is one anyone can join at any time. Spinal cord injuries don't only happen in wild accidents or extreme sports. They can happen to anyone, at any age, in the most ordinary moments. I was 18 in 2008. One minute I was just living life, the next everything changed. Today is the last day of Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month. I'm closing out the month with this reminder: life can shift in an instant, and it doesn't end there. I don't just advocate for me.
