China’s next-generation “artificial sun” project has reached a major construction milestone, with the main complex of the BEST fusion facility completed in Hefei, Anhui Province. The facility is designed to replicate the nuclear fusion reactions that power the Sun, with the aim of advancing research into a potential source of clean energy. More than half of the overall construction work has been completed, with the project scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.
