As someone who’s been working as a designer since 2011 I feel I have some wisdom to share, and some might find it shocking. Some might disagree, but I’m ready to battle it out if you think different. I see a lot of the same type of advice shared on socials but rarely ones about skill. You know the most successful and highest earnings designers aren’t usually the best, they just know how to market themselves and promise their value. That’s the key. I’ve also learnt the hard way that referrals are king. Be easy to work with, make people like you, never burn bridges, you want everyone you work with to be screaming from the doorstops about how great you are. AND, know your value!
