I first saw this tool previewed at Adobe MAX in Miami last year and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. As soon as they demoed it on stage, I remember thinking please release this soon. And now it’s finally here, the new Harmonize tool in the Photoshop beta app. It’s designed to do something we’ve all struggled with: getting your subject and background to look like they were shot in the same scene. Harmonize takes care of all the tricky stuff, matching the lighting, adjusting the color balance, even generating believable shadows that help everything sit naturally. What used to take a bunch of layers, masks, blend modes, and manual finessing now takes just a few clicks. It honestly feels like a little Photoshop magic. This is exactly the kind of AI I’m excited about. Not something that replaces creativity, but something that helps us create faster, with less friction.
