Eddie Murphy is making a major move into scripted television with The Chairman, a new drama series in development at Peacock from Matthew Weiner, the Emmy-winning creator of Mad Men. This will be Murphy’s first scripted TV series role. He has never been a regular star of a scripted television series… Until now. Murphy is set to star and executive produce the series, while Weiner will write and executive produce. Plot details are still being kept under wraps, so we don’t know much about the story just yet.
