Skipping class could now cost Ontario students more than just missed work… 👀📚 Starting in the 2026–27 school year, attendance and participation will officially count toward final grades for Ontario high school students. For students in Grades 9 & 10, attendance and participation will make up 15% of their final grade, while students in Grades 11 & 12 will have 10% tied to it. The province says excused absences will not negatively impact a student’s grade, meaning legitimate absences can still be accommodated. The change is part of Ontario’s new approach aimed at improving student attendance, participation and accountability in classrooms. Do you think showing up to class should count toward your final grade? Thoughts ⁉️🤔⤵️ • • • • #Ontario #Canada #OntarioStudents #HighSchool #Education
