🚴♂️ Valtteri Bottas is taking one of the wildest routes to a Grand Prix yet, cycling roughly 350 km from Malaysia to Singapore instead of simply flying between race weekends.
The Cadillac F1 driver began the multi-day ride after the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang, trading four wheels for two on the way to Formula 1’s next stop.
His first recorded stage covered 56.6 km to Port Dickson in 2 hours and 8 minutes, with 268 meters of elevation gain.
Bottas is no casual cyclist either, regularly training and competing in gravel events away from Formula 1.
The full journey is expected to cover about 217 miles before he reaches Singapore in time for the Grand Prix weekend.
It is a pretty fitting move for one of the paddock’s biggest cycling enthusiasts, especially during a back-to-back stretch when most of the grid is simply getting on a plane.
Would you ever attempt a 350 km bike ride between two Formula 1 weekends?
