Novak Djokovic claimed the 102nd singles title of his career after Alex de Minaur retired injured from the China Open final.
The 39-year-old led 7-6 (7-3), 0-1 when De Minaur was forced to retire with an apparent left thigh injury.
Djokovic extended his unbeaten run at the China Open to 34 matches, having won the tournament seven times.
The victory means Djokovic has won at least one singles title for 21 consecutive years.
Only Jimmy Connors, with 109 titles, and Roger Federer, with 103, have won more singles titles than Djokovic.
