A day of learning, exploring, and connecting across cultures in Tangier 🇲🇦
Students spent the day learning about the history and relationships between Islam, Judaism, and Christianity throughout Tangier. The day started with a walk through the Medina and a conversation with an Islamic leader at the Kasbah Mosque about the history of Islam in the region.
After sharing a Moroccan lunch together, the group visited the Moshe Nahon Synagogue to learn about Tangier’s Jewish community, followed by a stop at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, where Moorish architecture meets Christian tradition.
From the Medina to the mosque, synagogue, and church, this field class was a chance to see how different faiths and cultures have shaped Tangier—and how they continue to coexist today. 🌍
