We love seeing members of our community share their stories beyond our walls. 💙 In this week’s Intermountain Jewish News, Denver JDS Assistant Director of Admissions—and DJDS parent—Rachel Brander shares her personal journey from growing up as the “token Jew” in a small town in Maine to choosing Jewish day school for her own children. Written in response to a recent eJewishPhilanthropy piece about the role of Jewish day schools, Rachel reflects on belonging, Jewish identity, and what she has come to value about raising children in a Jewish day school community. As Rachel writes, “Being Jewish is woven into their everyday lives.” We’re proud to see Rachel’s perspective featured in the IJN and grateful to her for sharing such a personal piece of her family’s story.
