Cardio is great for your heart. But if you want to protect your body as you age, **don't skip the weights.**
As **Dr. Jason Snibbe, orthopedic surgeon for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Kardashians**, shares with Andrea Miller, maintaining muscle mass becomes increasingly important as we get older.
Cardio keeps you moving, supports your heart, and helps keep your joints mobile.
But Dr. Snibbe says **resistance training should be at the core of how we exercise as we age.**
Why?
Because the more muscle you build and maintain now, the stronger the foundation you're giving your future self.
He also points to **creatine** as something that can help support building and maintaining muscle, with emerging research exploring potential benefits for cognition, too.
The goal isn't to become a bodybuilder.
It's to build enough strength today that you have more of it to hold onto tomorrow.
