Frames from the Seahawks’ Week 4 win over the Chargers on a brilliant autumn day in Seattle. We get a lot of grey skies up here in the Pacific Northwest and so when the sun shines bright, it’s always fun to play with light and shadow. Ernest Jones IV celebrated into the good light after a sack, and after two weeks of a photo drought for me, frames started to appear again in front of my lens. Late in the game the cool light was gone, but I was in a good position to capture the play of the game when Uchenna Nwosu’s strip sack of Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert sealed the victory for the Seahawks. After two weeks of not making many good frames, I wanted to shoot tighter today to force myself to be uncomfortable and fight through the malaise. Also, artificial turf and warm direct sun are not a great combination for photography, as heat waves cause photos to be soft. And as we all know, soft sports photos suck.
