Plant Care 101: Growth Doesn’t Have One Look 🌱 This might be the biggest lesson of all. A plant does not look at the plant beside it and ask whether it grew correctly. It responds to its own roots. Its own environment. Its own season. Its own needs. Human beings could learn something from that. I don’t need my life to look successful to somebody else. I need it to feel like mine. Because maybe the real gag is realizing how many of us were taught to perform success instead of actually creating a life we want to live. And I’m not interested in performing my life. I’m interested in living it. My growth may not look like yours. My choices may not make sense to you. My freedom may even make you uncomfortable. That doesn’t make me unsuccessful. It means I finally stopped asking for permission to grow in the direction that was natural for me. Some plants climb. Some spread. Some bloom. Some grow slowly. Some need to be completely repotted before you ever see what they’re capable...
