New York State just passed a historic immigration package, including Dignity Not Detention (DnD), a bill led by Socialist in Office Julia Salazar and championed by the NYC-DSA Immigrant Justice Working Group. This victory belongs to immigrant New Yorkers, their loved ones, and our movement partners. But it also wouldn’t be possible without proud Socialists in Office, our Immigrant Justice Working Group, and all of you who showed up for rallies, got arrested, made phone calls, and fought to defend our immigrant neighbors. There is more that needs to be done. We continue to fight for New York for All (NY4All) to end local and state collusion with ICE. To truly end New York’s complicity with Trump’s terror campaign, we need NY4All and an end to federal detention so that our neighbors are not held in places like Delaney Hall in NJ and Buffalo Federal Detention Center in NY.
