A woman can absolutely know that a man loves her and still not feel emotionally safe with him.
Because love and emotional safety aren’t always the same thing.
She may love you deeply and still find herself rehearsing what she’s going to say before she says it.
Wondering if you’ll get defensive.
If you’ll tell her she’s overreacting.
If you’ll immediately explain why she’s wrong instead of trying to understand why she feels the way she does.
If she’ll somehow end up comforting you because she brought up something that hurt her.
Over time, she learns which subjects are safe and which ones aren’t. She starts editing herself. Avoiding certain conversations. Swallowing things she actually needs to say.
And that changes intimacy.
Emotional safety comes from knowing, “I can tell you the truth about what I’m feeling, even when it’s uncomfortable, and you’re going to stay in the room with me.”
You don’t have to agree with everything she feels. You don’t have to get it right every time...
