At just 5’3”, Muggsy Bogues entered a league built for giants and refused to let his height decide how far he could go. After starring at Wake Forest, he was selected 12th overall in the 1987 NBA Draft and went on to build a 14-season NBA career. He became a cornerstone of the Charlotte Hornets, using his speed, court vision, defense, and toughness to compete against players who sometimes stood more than two feet taller than him.
Bogues finished his career with nearly 7,000 points and more than 6,700 assists, proving he didn’t just make it to the NBA. He belonged there. To this day, he remains the shortest player in NBA history, but his legacy was never defined by what he lacked. It was defined by everything he refused to let stop him.
