This was quite an unnerving night on the Cantabrian Sea in Northern Spain, timing a brief low-tide window, and waiting for it to rise to the arches. *(Swipe to view photograph). Anyone that’s been to this location knows, there’s not much time once it hits the arches. What was even more concerning was capturing a prior 60-minute exposure while waiting for the water to rise to the base of the arches - hearing the surges roar in and dissipate without being able to see anything, wondering how high the water was while patiently waiting to turn on my headlamp and check once the exposure was complete. This was the last photograph of the night, a few adventure images to convey the size and scale of these impressive arches, all while trying to stay still for 20 seconds as the waves hit the arch and rushed up and around my feet a foot deep.
