Mexico City’s Day of the Dead parade didn’t exist until James Bond invented it. The opening scene of 2015’s Spectre showed Daniel Craig chasing a villain through a huge parade of giant skeletons and skull-painted dancers. It was pure Hollywood invention, because no such procession had ever been held in the city. Officials liked it so much that they made it real in 2016, running it from the Angel of Independence to the Zócalo using props and costumes from the film. The parade is now an annual tradition built on Mexico’s centuries-old Day of the Dead customs. #hosted #pubity #viral
