October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Awareness Month. Lives are saved because of people like Andres and Eric, and the preparation that comes before the moment. To every firefighter, EMT, paramedic, dispatcher, and officer: thank you. You train for the worst day of someone else’s life, and you show up ready. But the first minutes belong to whoever is standing nearby. When a bystander starts CPR and grabs an AED, they give first responders the chance to finish the save.
