I’ve been going to Gold Fork Hot Springs in Donnelly for years, and as it’s gotten a busier, I thought I’d share a few insider tips for anyone who wants a calmer experience.
Gold Fork has six outdoor pools formed by natural rock formations in a flow-through system, with temperatures ranging from about 85–110°F. I love that you can move between the pools depending on how hot you want to be, and the whole thing is surrounded by mountains and trees rather than feeling like a traditional swimming pool or resort.
No reservations are required, but there is a two-hour maximum soak time. If you’re looking for a quieter visit, Thursdays are 18+ only. During winter hours, children under 13 need to leave by 4 PM.
Admission is $15 per person and CASH ONLY, so make sure you have cash before making the drive up. Outside food is allowed, but alcohol and smoking are not. Large groups are discouraged.
