17 year old Wolf Cukier was interning at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center when he noticed something unusual in data from NASA's TESS telescope. On only his third day, he identified evidence of a planet orbiting two stars. The planet was later designated TOI 1338 b and is located roughly 1,300 light years away. Cukier had been searching for signals of planets when he noticed a small dip in the light produced by the system.
