Yesterday, Opal Lee celebrated 100 years of a life dedicated to moving history forward. The “Grandmother of Juneteenth” was celebrated by michelleobama with flowers in hand… a powerful moment between two women whose influence has helped shape the story of Black America. Last year, we honored Michelle Obama as a 2025 #EBONYPower100 Media Maven, and this moment is a reminder that power is also found in how we honor those who paved the way. Happy 100th birthday to the incomparable therealopallee! There’s true POWER in a life spent moving history forward. 🖤 Credit: michelleobama
