TWO POSTS. TWO THREATS. ONE TOUGH READ FOR THE GOALIE. The play starts with a quick east-to-west pass behind the net. From there, the puck carrier attacks the first post while the second forward finds space at the back door. Read the goalie. Take what opens. In the first rep, the pass crosses the royal road for a back-door finish. In the second, the back-door threat holds the goalie’s attention and the puck carrier attacks short side. Coaching point: Move the puck quickly, drive the first post with intent, and keep your stick ready away from the puck. Both forwards must look dangerous for the goalie to respect both options.
