The dramatic cliffs of Étretat in the north of France were the inspiration of 50 oil paintings by Claude Monet - and it’s easy to see why! We only stayed for a few hours, but it’s a place that I’ve been thinking about since we’ve left. Between 1883 and 1886 Monet studied and painted the landscape, capturing the fleeting light, colors, dramatic scenery and waves.
