♻️ Next, let's talk about 'Sustainability' and its significance to our mission!
We recently shared a video to highlight that 'all wells are not equal'. We often come across existing closed wells in potential partner communities that are barely functional due to poor oversight and implementation.
Most commonly, closed wells are not drilled in the correct location to tap into a sustainable aquifer with enough water, or to produce a high enough flow rate to sustain a large community that collects water every morning and evening.
When The Sonder Project embarks on a new well construction, we do everything possible to follow our core value of 'Doing The Most Good'. That means that our staff supervise the entire drilling process, from the first attempt until we strike an optimal water source.
We make sure that our drill team drills deep enough to access sustainable underground aquifers, and that we achieve a flow rate of at least 0.2 liters / second (3.17 gallons / min).
