Perched high above the West Village, juliannemoore’s new home frames the New York details she loves—water towers, decorative brick and tilework, arches and columns, and rooftop gardens—while its sprawling terraces helped ease the pain of leaving behind the lush garden of her former town house.
Working with her brother-in-law,
#AD100 architectural designer Oliver Freundlich (oliverfreundlichdesign), Moore embraced the apartment’s prewar character without “losing any of the magic.” Original steel-framed windows surround the kitchen, while furnishings collected over the years found new life in the space—including dining chairs Moore bought in Paris in 1995 that have followed her through every home since. The results couldn’t please her more. “It feels very serene here,” she says.
