David McKlay-Kidd is transforming some wild and barren bluffs atop the Snake River near Pasco into what will soon be revered as one of his very best in the world - riverranchgolf . And that's saying something, given his resume (Bandon, both courses at Gamble, Tetherow, Bone Valkey, Graybull, Lora Loma, and many more). I got the opportunity to walk the front 9 in September with a few cameras and clubs and my jaw was on the floor the entire time. Remarkable hole one after another. Green complexes unlike anything I have seen. Open vistas and fairways, balanced by radically penal green-sites if missed. I was assured by the on-site architecture crew while walking a few holes on the back 9 that the second 9 will be even better. The back had only 4 holes left to grass when I was there, and the race was on to get the seed down to germinate before the winter rolls in. I cannot wait for this place to open.
