Boy mom wisdom, signed a mom of 6 boys: Embrace the chaos. Your house will not be quiet, your whites will not stay white, your floors will not stay clean, your pillows will never stay on your couch. What God taught me most as a boy mom to many? Patience. Boys have endless energy. Sometimes their bodies cannot help it. Grace. No crying over spilled milk. Seriously- I always tell people “don’t sweat the little things, otherwise you’ll be sweating all day.” Spills can get cleaned up, mud can get mopped up, the kids are washable. They’ll remember your reactions, and I want them to remember the memories more. “We had so much fun playing in the mud!” Vs “mom yelled at us for playing in the mud.” My biggest tip? Give them work. Boys’ bodies are always in motion, so may as well give them something to do with it. Acting up? Make them work.
