On Sunday, the Berkeley community gathered together, clearing out layers of rocks and dirt to plant seaside daisies in honor of UC Berkeley student Daisy Judith Morales. The pink flowers now blossom in the center of the Rochdale Village apartments in her memory. Morales, an undergraduate studying political science and public policy and Berkeley Student Cooperative board member, passed away Sept. 27 at the age of 29. She served as 1 of 4 Rochdale Village’s representatives on the BSC board of directors and conducted research on pro-abortion activism in an Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program position. Her family started a GoFundMe page to raise money for Morales’ funeral, which has received 125 donations and upward of $11,000 as of press time. The target goal is $20,000.
