Space 🤝 Pitt. This morning we experienced a rare lunar occultation of Jupiter. The moon made the gas giant disappear for just about an hour as it passed in front of it. DYK: The allegheny_observatory, located just 8 miles from campus is part of pittphysastro and you can take undergraduate classes there? You can also register to tour the observatory through the end of October! (If the sky is clear you will get to see whatever celestial objects are within range of the telescope that night. 😱)
