Julie Ertz (Johnston) has retired effective immediately. Julie Ertz was a key component to the uswnt winning the World Cup in 2015 and 2019. In 2017 and 2019 she ended up being U.S Player of the Year. As a mom myself I understand how she was feeling knowing she couldn’t be by her son, Madden, side every minute when she was gone playing for club or national team. It takes a lot to be away from your child for a long period of time. I hope she enjoys retirement and I’ll continue on wearing the teal prewrap in your honor Julie! #julieertz #ertz #uswnt #nwsl uswnt
