Central Michigan University is now home to 13,524 students, which is a 600 student drop from last year and around a 9,500 student drop from 2017. Despite low enrollment, Vice President of Student Recruitment and Retention, Jennifer DeHaemers, said she felt positive about where the university stands with enrollment.
“We’re maintaining,” DeHaemers said. “Obviously we’d rather be growing, but to be at that spot is definitely a positive in the sense that we’re not continuing to decline.”
CMU international enrollment has also dropped by 497 students from the spring to this fall semester. Three years ago, the university reached its highest international enrollment of 1,734 students.
