A turboprop airplane flew underneath one of Portland’s most iconic bridges Friday in a daredevil takeoff from the Willamette River.
Local software executive Cabel Sasser captured the takeoff on video during his regular walk home across the forest-green span. Sasser is co-founder of video game publisher Panic, which has its offices in downtown’s 11W tower.
“At first I thought it was a weird boat in the distance,” Sasser told The Oregonian/OregonLive. He took out his phone to film the takeoff for his son, who’s interested in planes.
