October 7 marks the third anniversary of the 2023 attacks on Israel. At least 1,195 people were killed in Israel during a Hamas-led attack on multiple locations near the Gaza border, where 251 hostages were also captured and taken back to Gaza. Eighty-five of those hostages died. Israel responded to the attack with a large-scale war that has left the Palestinian territory in ruins and killed more than 74,000 people, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
