Sugarloaf Social Club co-founder and president Ian Gilley visits Joe Plecker at the Titleist Performance Center at Manchester Lane to work on his iron swing. The former Rollins College golfer wants to recover the controlled draw he once relied on while addressing thin contact and high, short misses to the right.
Plecker studies Ian's ball flight before testing how his trail-hand grip matches his external rotational shoulder mobility. Their work links grip position with posture, swing path and club exit, then adds a wider stance and trail-foot pressure to support rotation through the downswing.
A three-quarter backswing and half-finish “squeeze” shot gives Ian another option for controlling trajectory, carry distance and contact. He finishes by applying the same grip, stance and ground-pressure cues to his stock, squeeze and max-effort iron swings.
