DoorDash just officially launched their drone delivery program. It’s called DoorDash Air. And this is going to completely change how food gets delivered in the future. Customers can now place orders that fly straight from the restaurant and land directly in your yard. Now the big perk is that these drones can fly over top of the traffic, so on average, order flight time is just 5 minutes. These drones are extremely quiet and you can actually watch the drone’s route via a flyover visualization as it gets delivered. The service is just starting to roll out in select markets (“in the coming months”) with companies like Chipotle and Popeyes, but this is a peek into the future of cutting edge logistics and delivery.
