Salem, Massachusetts, is attempting to make Halloween history by gathering hundreds, or potentially thousands, of people wearing witch hats for a massive group photo and world record attempt.
A fitting celebration for the home of the infamous witch trials.
The event, called Witch Hats on the Wharf, takes place on Saturday, October 17, at Salem Maritime National Historical Park as part of the city’s 400th anniversary celebrations.
If you’re in the Boston area, this is your chance to be part of Halloween history. Everyone is welcome to participate for free, with attendees encouraged to wear a witch hat of any size, style or colour and arrive at 160 Derby Street before 11 a.m.
Overhead photos of the crowd will be taken at approximately 11 a.m., with the city hoping to capture a record-breaking Halloween moment.
