‘They look completely at home, they look familiar, and yet they look strange and alien at the same time.’ – Alison Smith
Alison Smith, Director of Collections and Research at the Wallace Collection (@wallacemuseum), reflects on Rachel Kneebone’s exhibition ‘Metamorphoses’, which positions nine white porcelain sculptures throughout the museum’s galleries.
Creating points of contact and dialogue with works from the collection, Rachel’s sculptures appear to shift and change within their surroundings. As Alison notes, ‘through the eyes of living artists, works from the past can be seen afresh.’
📍 ‘Rachel Kneebone: Metamorphoses’ is on view until 25 April 2027 at the Wallace Collection, London.
